Let's start up this page with the first planned addition for Halo: Operation Aurora multiplayer. This quick concept diagram shows how initial spawning will work in outdoor maps (only for players who join at match beginning).
To the left, you can see a poorly drawn 'drop pod', much like the ones used by Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. The plan is to make a initial spawn points which allow for players to drop into a match at the beginning after lobby countdown, the hatch of the pod will still be closed until the in-game countdown timer is done which is when the hatch will unlock and fly roughly 4.5 grids from the pod allowing the player to exit and play his game. This is only for outdoor maps, for obvious reasons.
What is the point of this feature?
While players are waiting for countdown to fall to zero while they are in the pod, it allows for the rest of the map to render and optimize.
What if I wanted to remove the feature?
Custom matches will have an option that will allow players to disable this function however low-end PCs may have frame-rate issues initially during the match due to the lack of time to render and optimize the map. But the sacrifice most probably will not be noticeable.
What about respawn points?
Respawn points will work as usual, no special animation, otherwise if Pod-spawning was working during respawning then drop pods would consume the room on the maps.
